Capstone Success.

Alumni have used their capstone projects to transform programming at professional leagues/teams, restructure operations of grassroots nonprofits and launch/grow their own consulting businesses.

Successful Capstone Results Include:

  • Revamping an NFL team community initiative

  • Evaluating a MLB league program

  • Launching a partnership with an academic institution to conduct measurement and evaluation of Madison Square Garden company community programming for the first time

  • Creation of an “Impact vertical” within Gatorade’s existing Social & Culture Marketing team framework 

  • Development of a coaching best practices tool recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services

  • Branding and launching consulting businesses in the field

  • Building an infrastructure for a nonprofit board

  • Industry survey and resource assessment

Upon completion of the SEIC Certificate, all SEIC Alumni are invited to participate in regular virtual continuing education sessions. These in person and live virtual events introduce guest speakers and current topics while facilitating cross-cohort introductions and continued learning and networking opportunities for the SEIC Alumni community.

Past Events Include:

  • Purpose at the Core: Marketing + Heart” hosted by guest speaker, Dr. Randy Poon (Novus Global)

  • In person learning at The Kennedy Center with their VP and Artistic Director of Social Impact

  • "Unleashing Innovation" hosted by Kathy Bihr (SEIC Faculty)

  • "Following a non-traditional path and ending up where you need to be" hosted by guest speaker, Rebecca Feferman (former SXSW/Warner Bros.)

  • "Emerging Trends" hosted by Todd Smith (SEIC Faculty)

  • "Pause, Reflect & Learn" hosted (during the first weeks of the COVID-19 Pandemic) by Janice Simsohn Shaw (SEIC Faculty)

  • "New Age of Fundraising" hosted by Harrie Bakst (SEIC Faculty)

  • "Internal Communication and Team Building" hosted by Bethany Henderson (SEIC Faculty)

 

Plus Alumni Showcases, which are an opportunity for SEIC's accomplished Alumni to share updates on specific topics with the entire SEIC Alumni and Faculty community.
